I’m a millennial, neurodivergent, queer, mixed-race woman, a bit of a cycle nerd, and very much someone who is often winging it and figuring out how to practice what I preach.
I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by emotions, disconnected from yourself, or out of sync with your body, because I’ve been there myself
Alongside my professional training, my lived experiences have shaped how I work, helping me meet clients with genuine understanding, compassion, and a deep respect for how hard this stuff can be and how courageous it is to reach out for support.
I have experienced firsthand how powerful and transformative it can be when therapy is a welcoming place where you can show up as your authentic self. Offering a warm, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship is at the heart of how I work.
Starting therapy can be a daunting experience but I am passionate about creating a space where you can feel seen, heard and understood, and where you are supported to navigate life’s challenges, find healing and reconnect with who you are.
Hi, I’m Lori
my approach
I’m not the kind of therapist who sits back as a “blank slate” and just nods along from a distance. I work in a relational way, which means I believe the relationship between us really matters. For me, therapy is a space where we meet human to human, build trust, and over time develop a genuine, collaborative therapeutic connection.
My work is rooted in humanistic principles which means I trust and value your inner wisdom and capacity for change. At the same time I also recognise that at times you might want or need a bit more guidance and support. I don’t believe in a one size fits all approach. Instead, I work flexibly and responsively at a pace that feels right for you. I offer support that’s shaped around you, your needs, and what you bring to the therapy room, whatever that may be.
Before training as a counsellor I worked as a menstrual cycle coach and full-spectrum doula, supporting women through experiences such as baby loss, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and menstrual cycle awareness. These experiences deeply shaped how I understand emotional wellbeing, and they continue to inform my cycle-aware, relational approach to counselling.
Ready to work together?
If you’re interested in working with me, the first step is for us to have an initial 20-minute consultation over Zoom.
This isn’t a therapy session but a chance for us to see if we’re a good fit, for you to get a feel for how I work, and to share a little about what you’re hoping to get from therapy. Fill out the form so I can book in your call.
