A gentle place to sit with your birth story. Maybe your birth didn't go as planned. Or perhaps it went "perfectly" on paper but you still feel a bit disconnected from the experience. Maybe it was ecstatic but it’s been hard to integrate in your postpartum. A birth reflection session with me is an opportunity to look back at your story with someone who understands that birth isn't just a physical event, it’s a massive shift for your identity and your nervous system. Together we can sit with the messy parts, the quiet parts, and everything in between, helping you to make sense of your experience while feeling held and supported.

Tell me more

When we talk about birth, the world often focuses on the outcome and asks, “how’s the baby?”. A birth reflection session is a space where you get to sit with the whole experience and someone finally asks, How are you?”.

It is a space to say it all out loud, as much or as little as you feel like sharing, knowing it will be held with care and understanding. There’s no "right" way to feel and definitely no judgment from me. Whether your experience felt disappointing, unexpected or scary, I’m here to help you untangle the threads so it doesn't feel so heavy to carry.

I want to follow your lead, so there's no rigid structure and you get to decide how we use the hour. Sometimes it’s about telling the whole story from start to finish, sometimes it’s focusing on one specific moment you can't stop thinking about and sometimes it’s less about the what happened and more about how it all felt to experience.

What does your support look like?

  • This is a single, hour-long session. It includes a follow up email afterwards with a summary of our chat and any signposting or resources that might help you beyond our session.

  • For some people, a one hour session is exactly what they need. For others, they want or need more ongoing support and regular counselling sessions is a better place to start.

pain is important: how we evade it, how we succumb to it, how we deal with it, how we transcend it.
