Frequently Asked Questions
-
Counselling is for anyone who wants support with emotional wellbeing, life changes, or better understanding themselves. You don’t need a diagnosis, or to have a specific “problem” that needs fixing. Therapy can help if you’re feeling anxious, low in mood, overwhelmed, or just want more clarity about yourself and your life.
-
Counselling can support anxiety, low mood, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, identity questions, neurodivergent experiences, or periods of life transition. If it’s affecting your wellbeing, it’s valid to bring to therapy.
I specialise in working with menstrual cycle awareness in therapy, PMDD & neurodivergent people. Although these are areas I’m especially passionate about, they are just one part of my work. I welcome clients of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences, and I’m here to support you with whatever feels important in your life right now.
-
If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or curious about exploring your thoughts and emotions, counselling can help. It’s a space to reflect, make sense of experiences, and feel more in tune with yourself with someone who won’t judge and wants to hold space for and understand what you’re going through. It can be scary to start therapy but you get to choose what you bring into therapy and be in charge of where we go and how fast we go there.
-
Sessions are 50 minutes long. Most people start with weekly or fortnightly sessions, but we can adjust frequency to suit your needs.
-
No. Counselling is suitable whether this is your first experience or you’ve seen a therapist before. We start wherever you’re at.
-
You talk about whatever matters most to you, current challenges, past experiences, or patterns in your life you are ready to get curious about. Sessions are guided by your needs, not a set agenda.
With cycle-aware therapy, we’ll use your cycle as a supportive anchor, but you still get to talk about whatever matters most to you. You are in charge of your therapy journey.

I’m not the kind of therapist who sits back as a “blank slate” and just nods along from a distance. I work in a relational way, which means I believe the relationship between us really matters. For me, therapy is a space where we meet human to human, build trust, and over time develop a genuine, collaborative therapeutic connection.
I am a person-centred counsellor and I work in a relational, humanistic, and client-led way. Therapy with me is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and flexible to your needs. I think therapy works best when you feel supported and so my approach is always warm, collaborative and non-judgemental. -
Yes, if it feels helpful but it’s also not mandatory. Cycle-aware counselling gently explores how emotions, energy, and needs shift across your cycle. It’s a tool for self-understanding but isn’t required to benefit from therapy.
-
Yes absolutely! I work in a neuro-affirming way and have experience supporting clients who are autistic, ADHD, or AuDHD. As an autistic counsellor myself, I understand what it’s like to navigate the world differently. Therapy is shaped around your needs, sensitivities, and patterns. I won’t ever try to make you fit a particular model or like you have to mask your neurodivergence.
